Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 1
Your safari guide will meet you and
depart by road for Fort portal. You will
pass through the After early breakfast,
have a half day drive west via Mityana
to Fort Portal, passing though green
countryside and traditional homesteads
and farms. Fort Portal town rests in the
shadow of the Fabled "Mountains of the
Moon,"
Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari
Lodge(Luxury)or the tree house at
Kanyankyu ecological centre(Budget).
Day 2
After substantial breakfast set on your
walking expedition in Kibale National
Park. This is home to an astonishing 12
species of primates and provides one of
the highest primate densities in the
world. On our guided forest walk, you
may find families of chimps, and
red-tailed and colobus Monkeys
chattering and singing through the
ancient forest trees. The bird life is
no less impressive. After lunch take a
walk in Bigodi swamp for its rare,
beautiful flora and fauna. You will also
have an opportunity to interact with a
successful community tourism project.
Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari
Lodge(Luxury)or the tree house at
Kanyankyu ecological centre(Budget).
Day 3
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest National Park. You
will drive through the southern sector
of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha. Here
you will take lunch by the Ishasha River
and try to find the famed Ishasha
tree-climbing lions before continuing on
to Bwindi, home to the few remaining
mountain gorillas. Bird life and primate
life in Bwindi is quite superb, and
there is an incredible variety of flora.
Bwindi is the Bird watchers haven! It
holds 348 species of birds and supports
24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that
occur in Uganda; and seven red data book
species. Once continuous with the
forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian
Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is now
an ecological island, surrounded by
cultivation on the rich volcanic soils.
Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma
Community Bandas (FB).
Day 4
Given the fact that gorilla tracking is
unpredictable, it is difficult to
foresee how many hours you will actually
hike. The experience of tracking the
gorillas in the superb ecosystem of the
park will be passionate for the
adventurers. It may take 2hrs up to 8
hours or more and you should be prepared
to walk long distance in steep and muddy
conditions, sometimes with rain
overhead, before you encounter any
gorillas. "The excitement of seeing the
gorillas makes it all worthwhile!"
Briefing will be given on how to handle
or behave.
If you have the energy in the afternoon,
you will go for a village walk, see how
Ugandans live, visit a local medicine
man!

Day 5
After breakfast, depart to Kampala
stopping in one of the towns for lunch.
This scenic drive will take you across
the Equator where you will stop for a
photographic opportunity as well as an
informative talk.
