DAY 1 – NAIROBI TO NAIVASHA

Depart Nairobi in the early morning towards Lake Naivasha.

Arrive Fish Eagle campsite/Lodge. Proceed on a boat ride to Crescent Island, 15 minutes. This is a private game sanctuary where you can wander on foot among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe. It is also a great place for birdwatching, with over 300 species of birds on display.

After lunch, the options include visiting Elsamere Conservation center, relaxing by the poolside or partaking in sport fishing on the lake (all at additional extra costs). The Elsamere center is a conservation center focused on environmental awareness programmes as well as a memorial museum for the late Joy Adamson of Born Free fame. Dinner and overnight camping/Lodge back at Fish eagle/Lodge.

DAY 2 – NAIVASHA TO NAKURU

Early morning breakfast before breaking camp/Lodge towards nearby Lake Nakuru for a game drive. The park is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and you may find white rhino at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation amongst bird enthusiasts with more than 400 species of bird found here. We spend the night at a campsite/Lodge just outside of town.

DAY 3 – NAKURU TO KAKAMEGA

Early breakfast before breaking camp and departing towards the shores of Lake Victoria.

Lunch en route before arriving at Kakamega forest. Here we enjoy a guided walk through the only mid-altitude rainforest in Kenya (a remnant of Central Africa rainforests). This national park is home to over 300 bird species, over 350 tree species, 27 species of “friendly” snakes and 400 butterfly species. Further attractions include the endangered DeBrazza monkey, the majestic blue and white colobus monkey, flying squirrels and potto (the world’s slowest mammal) making it a great place to explore. Dinner and overnight camping/Lodge in the reserve.

 

 

DAY 4 – KOGELO/ KISUMU

Depart the pristine forests of Kakamega after a hearty breakfast towards the small rural village of Kogelo – the birthplace of Barrack Obama’s father. Explore the humble village and experience the community warmth enjoyed by the peoples of Kenya. The village has a primary school, health center,children home for the orphans, coutesy of Lecden(alocal n g o) and a high school (Senator Obama Secondary School) named after the president elect.

In the afternoon drive towards KISUMU, have afternoon rest at the shore of Lake Victoria with a boat ride. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Kisumu

DAY 5 –KISUMU Museum/Animals orphanage

After morning breakfast ,depart to Kisumu Museum and the animal orphane and witness all the attractions,   historical,

The culture and wildlife in Nyanza,We break for lunch,then afternoon leisure at at the Lake Victoria with boat ride if you prefer so. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Kisumu.

DAY 6 – KERICHO TO MARA

 In the morning after breakfast, drive towards Kericho, famous for its tea plantations arriving in the afternoon time for lunch,in the afternoon We can have the local excursions and learn more about culture and life of the tribes in Kericho town.Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge in Kericho.After morning Breakfast,  depart towards Narok and the Masai mara game reserve. Arrive in the afternoon with lunch en-route at our semi-permanent Talek riverside campsite/Lodge situated at the edge of the park. Here we have stand-up tents/Lodge with beds for use as well as small wood cabins for those after a touch more comfort. Hot showers are available in the camp/Lodge and meals are served in the dinning mess or in the open.

DAY 7 – MASAI MARA

Full day spent exploring the Mara game reserve through early morning and late afternoon game drives. Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

Day 8 – Nairobi
We break camp and drive to Narok where Masai souvenirs can be bought, then back to your Nairobi Hotel by late afternoon.
