Skills required & What you might do on a
volunteering trip:
Generally projects don’t require
specific skills though motivation,
enthusiasm and a flexible approach are
essential.
English is usually the common language
although a level of proficiency in the
host country language or Swahili would
be a bonus. Likewise, certain projects,
such as social or arts-based work, may
require you to have some previous
experience within that field.

Who is eligible to apply?
There are no formal qualifications
required to participate in this program,
but volunteers must have a willingness
to help and share a passion for working
with those in need. Most participants
are aged between from 16 but there is no
upper age limit for participation.

Sample itinerary and additional
activities
Normally our Volunteer Vacations and
holidays run 12 - 14 days.
The itinerary presented here is only a
general idea. Details can be changed
based on your group’s interests or
abilities. We will discuss your trip at
length prior to going so that your
individual interests are accommodated
and needs are met.
Day 1: Arrival / Transport to
accommodation / swim/Dinner /
Orientation/rest
Day 2 - 8 or 11: Breakfast / Group
Meeting / Work project / Lunch / Project
work / Dinner / Evening meal /free time

Day 9 or 12 & 13: Normally we spend two
or three days away on an activity like
safari, white water rafting, fishing,
bungee jumping, quad biking trips,
swimming, forest walks, to give you a
chance to relax, act like a tourist,
shop, swim and reflect upon all that has
just transpired.
Day 12 or 14: Travel day - Transport to
airport and fly back home.
DETAILED ITINERARY
● Additional activities
In addition to the activities listed for
each country, we can arrange alternative
cultural activities, guided tours or
other leisure activities relevant to
your group. Activities will be charged
on an individual basis.
● Familiarization visit
If you need to visit the project before
a group trip (e.g. for health and safety
purposes) we can arrange for a
familiarization visit to cover all the
locations and activities included in the
itinerary. This will be charged at the
same group rate per person. Minimum
numbers do not apply.
Cost for the trips-Leaders Travel free
The basic cost per person varies by
country and as such is detailed with
each specific project.
Leaders Travel free:
As an EYES ON NATURE EXPEDITIONS Leader,
you will receive free place on the trip
for every 15 people.
You will get free accommodation in
Africa, free meals, free excursions and
trip including a safari when you bring
just 10 full-paying participants on your
tour. Then, for each additional 15
full-paying travelers, you earn another
free place. You can use your free places
for other leaders or helpers.
