NGORONGORO AND LAKE MANYARA BY ROAD [2 NIGHTS / 3 DAYS]

Tour Summary/ Features:
This safari begins and ends in Arusha. It takes you to the Ngorongoro Crater for a tour of the crater, with picnic lunch on the crater's floor. The crater supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife. It is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world.

From the crater you head to Lake Manyara National Park -a park famous for the elusive tree-climbing
lions. This spectacular park is a scenic gem that is also an ornithologists’ paradise.
Your stay is in top class accommodation throughout.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha - Ngorongoro
1230hrs: Tour starts with lunch in Arusha Town
1400hrs: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and arrive at your lodge in time for dinner.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa or Similar

Day 2: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara
0800 hrs: After breakfast, depart on a half-day tour of the crater. The day commences with a 600 m (2000 ft) descent to the crater floor, a magnificent natural amphitheatre.
Covering 260 sq. km, the crater is a great wildlife attraction. You will have no trouble spotting Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and many species of plains animals -Wildebeest, Zebra, Reedbuck, Thompson gazelle and many more.
Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, arriving in time for
dinner at your lodge. Dinner and overnight Kirurumu Tented Lodge

Day 3: Lake Manyara - Arusha
0800 hrs: After breakfast, depart for a morning tour of the Lake Manyara National Park.
The park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. Its varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland, and open savannah grassland along the lakeshores and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five -Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists’ paradise hosting over 400 species of birds.
Drive back to Arusha to arrive in time for lunch at 1200 hrs

5. When arranging for your international air tickets, note that it is usually cheaper to disembark at
Nairobi in Kenya. Then take a shuttle bus to Arusha at a cost of US$ 30 (one way). This shuttle bus
has two daily departures at 0800 and 1400 hrs daily from both Nairobi and Arusha. The drive takes
5 hours. If you wish to make use of this option, please indicate so.
